Storyline
Trying to escape her broken past, Sarah O’Neill is building a new life on the fringes of a backwood rural town with her young son Chris. A terrifying encounter with a mysterious neighbour shatters her fragile security, throwing Sarah into a spiralling nightmare of paranoia and mistrust, as she tries to uncover if the disturbing changes in her little boy are connected to an ominous sinkhole buried deep in the forest that borders their home.

"Both leads deserve props, but I don't think the thing really vibes for me. I've seen it done before, a lot, and I don't think anyone's ever really nailed it. _The Hole in the Ground_ doesn't change my mind on that, and the whole thing starts to feel very familiar by the half-way point. I appreciated _The Hole in the Ground_, but I don't think I can recommend it. _Final rating:★★½ - Had a lot that appealed to me, didn’t quite work as a whole._"
