World War I is underway. Tsarist troops are rampaging around Tarnów. Sixteen-year-old Karolina Kózkówna suffers a martyr's death in defense of the faith. Her father blames himself for the death of his beloved daughter. The story of the characters is completed by Teresa, who carries in her heart a secret about the rape inflicted by the Cossack Sorokin. What will be the fate of the disgraced Teresa? Where does the meaning of Blessed Caroline's martyrdom lie? Will the father come to terms with the loss of his beloved daughter? The film carries a message about the meaning of suffering, the victory of love over hatred, as well as the news that faith in Jesus Christ can constantly change the life of each of us.
