Storyline
The story of a young man, D, as he returns to his Oakland neighborhood after serving two years in prison for a robbery gone wrong. In the days after his release, we are taken into Dās world while he navigates the harsh realities that plague his inner city community. His judgment is tested by the insidious influences around him, forcing D to decide what direction to take his life.

"** It's not about licking icecream.** The name LICKS is from the ghetto slang term 'hit a lick' which means to commit a crime usually a robbery of sorts. I do believe that potentially licks originally was a short for liqour store (which the characters do 'hit' in this one) but not entirely sure. Mack 10 uses the term alot in his raps. Anyway the movie is decent, you can kind of tell that the director isn't the most experienced due to some pacing problems and whatnot but when all is said and done it turns out to be a pretty well thought of story. Alot of b-word and n-words thrown around if that is an issue."
