Wedding Espresso

"A woman is waiting in a coffee shop for her ever-tardy boyfriend to arrive when a mother and daughter walk in brimming with wedding conversation. The mother, well think “Hyacinth Bucket” and you won’t go far wrong, so overhearing this chat gets our lonesome Lucy thinking on what marriage might hold for her. Who might they ask? Where would they honeymoon? Does she really want to be picking up his pants for the rest of her life? Indeed, when it comes down to it - does she even want to marry this constant latecomer who’s way more interested in the football? This is a simple enough line-drawn exercise that for my money is prone to one-too-many stereotypes of both sexes. There are a few lines from the dialogue that amusingly send up the whole concept of the white Rolls Royce wedding, and it’s consequently absurd expense, but the story is all just a bit too thin - even for five minutes."
