Alekos Oudinotis
Biography
Alekos Oudinotis (Greek: Αλέκος Ουδινότης, Athens, 1935 - Thessaloniki, 15 March 2020) was a Greek theatre actor. Born in 1935 in Athens, Alekos Oudinotis studied at the Drama School of the Theatre of Arts, from which he graduated in 1960, while, at the same time, he studied mathematics at the University of Athens. After the end of the period of the Colonels' Dictatorship, more specifically in 1974, he collaborated with the State Theatre of Northern Greece, with his first participation as an actor taking place during the same year, in the play "The Cherry Orchard" by Anton Chekhov, directed by Minos Volanakis. The collaboration between the two parties lasted until 1999, with Oudinotis himself participating in a significant number of performances, the last of which was his participation in the performance "The Silence of Alcestis" by Tina Stefanopoulou and the Nemesis Group, directed by him. At the same time, he also pursued a career as a film actor, appearing, among others, in the films “The Gaze of Ulysses” (1995) and “An Eternity and a Day” (1998) by Theodoros Angelopoulos, in the film “Quiet Days of August” (1991) by Pantelis Voulgaris, in the film “The Gentleman in Gray” (1997) by Pericles Hoursoglos, in the film “A Day in the Night” (2000) by Giorgos Panousopoulos, as well as in the film “We Are the Ones, Master” (1998) by Leonidas Vardaros. He died on March 15, 2020, in the city of Thessaloniki, where he resided, while his funeral took place a few days later, more specifically on March 16, 2020, inside the Church of the Resurrection of the Savior, in Thermi.
